about
This song is called "For Papa". This is about the man who shaped me to be the person I am today, my grandfather. A few years ago, my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinsons. When someone has parkinsons, you are faced with many problems with your health. I have had to watch my grandfather die in front of my eyes.
"Let it out, let it consume me." - That line involves the longing to take his pain away, and how I would take the pain as long as it means that he would live.
Papa, this ones for you.
lyrics
Let it out,
let it consume me.
I’m sitting here,
with you asleep beside me.
As I write this song,
I know it won’t be long before you leave me.
Even though you might be gone,
you’ll still live on in my memories.
ooooooo
you’re still here.
ooooooo
I’ve got nothing to fear.
but yes I’m still afraid,
of the man I am today.
Is this what you’d want,
or is it just a lost cause?
I’m sorry,
for everything.
You left me here,
in the waiting room.
I’ve got nothing to do,
could I go back to my room,
and just be alone?
As I face my fears,
I know you won’t be near for long.
I’ll just pour another beer,
I know you’re still right here in my heart.
oooooooo
I’m still scared.
oooooooo
I am unaware.
ohhhhhhhh
but yes I’m still afraid,
of the man I am today.
Is this what you’d want,
or is it just a lost cause?
I’m sorry,
for everything.
